Position Summary:

As the UX Research Manager, you will be responsible for leading the user experience research program supporting ADT’s Design team and helping develop the strategy that delivers innovative user experiences for prospects shopping for Home, Business & DIY Security monitoring. Your work will focus on lead generation and sales to drive performance in the digital space through the traditional lead funnel and eCommerce channel. You will work with stakeholders across the company and serve as a problem solver because you understand the needs of the business and know how to effectively communicate to solve objectives. You will plan and conduct UX research to improve usability and implement design-thinking techniques to create intuitive user journeys. You will raise the level of sophistication in design and always look for new ways to make sure our digital properties communicate our technological expertise. Furthermore, you’ll work with Engineering and UX/UI Designers to come up with new and compelling executions that reinforce our technological sophistication that speak to our consumers’ needs. You will also work with Marketing research partners to synthesize data from multiple sources and extract key insights that will drive design decisions. You will be expected to research new design methodologies including those of competitors to help us beat them at their game. You will be a champion for the customer and relentlessly pursue a frictionless experience that drives performance.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct user research using a variety of methods including online (moderated and un-moderated) and in-person studies
  • Conduct background research, including competitive, to inform the design process
  • Utilize user personas around security intenders, especially in ADT’s target audience
  • Develop UX flows, for a variety of technologies in support of the all ADT digital properties with a mobile-first approach
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, Product Managers, and Engineering support to give and receive feedback
  • Run design sprints and other design-thinking workshops that involve various stakeholders to quickly solve business problems and produce actionable results
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Competitive research, Product, and Sales teams to harness insights and incorporate into strategic design decisions
  • Help develop and maintain a research library or wiki of learnings from research, testing experiments and usability studies for other Marketing and Product teams to benefit from
  • Develop workable design strategies that account for complex business logic and legal constraints
  • Collaborate with product managers to prioritize backlogs based on ROI, considering business value and level-of-effort
  • Help raise the sophistication of the design team through design-thinking strategies
  • Participate in daily standup meetings to give and receive status reports on projects that require both marketing and Engineering support

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) Human Factors, Psychology, Sociology, related field, or equivalent practical experience in User Experience Design or Information Architecture
  • Master's degree or PhD in a related field, preferred
  • NN/g UX Certification or similar, a plus

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of overall experience in the UX research and design areas, in brand or digital marketing agency
  • 3+ years of digital marketing experience at an agency or advertiser a plus
  • Extensive experience running user research including moderated and unmoderated tests, ethnographic studies, quantitative surveys, cognitive clinical interviews, benchmark studies, etc.
  • Experience with analytics software including web and behavioral tools
  • Experience generating engaging presentation decks to communicate findings, educate partners and drive adoption of recommendations
  • Strong experience designing, running and analyzing A/B tests
  • Familiarity with design & prototyping software such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, Zeplin, InVision, Axure, Marvel, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  • Familiarity with basic front-end development concepts

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Must be able to translate business goals into functional strategies
  • Must possess strong communication and presentation skills and be proficient in spreadsheet applications
  • High attention to detail and high standards for deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with clients or business stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of best practices for web design, Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Material Design and American Disabilities Act (ADA) best practices
  • Familiarity and experience working with agile methodologies, a plus

Compensation

The pay range for this role is $92,800 to $139,200 annually, and is based on experience and qualifications.
