The Manager of Consumer Insights will deliver insights that help define Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies/tactics that can help sustain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. The role will be accountable for consulting with Marketing, Sales, and CXO leadership to assess and address qualitative and quantitative research needs focused on GTM, and for managing, analyzing, and synthesizing consumer and marketplace insights into actionable.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, execute and interpret research that helps achieve new subscriber growth targets for ADT and increases the retention of existing customers
  • Capture, integrate, organize and communicate critical information about customers, markets, competitors, and technology trends to all critical internal stakeholders
  • Ensure key decisions that drive GTM strategy – particularly regarding price elasticity, value perception, and offer effectiveness -- are based on relevant insights and consumer data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to formalize and drive a test & learn approach to offer management in the acquisition and retention of Residential and Small Business consumers
  • Create fact-based competitive analyses across the market landscape and at an individual competitor level
  • Stay abreast of macro trends in consumer behavior/attitudes and product/solution offerings, leveraging competitive benchmarking, in-market testing and other key research tools as required
  • Develop and effectively manage the annual ‘market insights’ operating budget, ensuring appropriate funds are allocated against priorities

Compensation

The pay range for this role is $58,800 to $117,600 annually, and is based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications
Skills & Capabilities

  • Represents the voice of the consumer in a way that has a direct and immediate impact on the business
  • Works effectively with cross-functional teams such as marketing and product development
  • Experience conducting qualitative research with a clear mastery of research techniques and their applications pertaining to price elasticity, value perception, & willingness to pay
  • Previous experience with both Primary and Secondary Research, including creative design of qualitative and quantitative Primary Research studies
  • Has the capacity to see the big picture and execute against it
  • Relationship builder; can work with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to think innovatively; open-minded and seeks ‘out of the box” solutions
  • Straight-forward communicator; can organize, clarify and communicate complex ideas quickly, succinctly and accurately
  • Work Experience
  • 5+ years of directly related experience
  • Experience as a “hands-on” market research professional at a direct-to-consumer business
  • Experience with subscription-based business model preferred

Education / Certification
An advanced degree (minimum of a Bachelor’s with a preferred Master’s/PhD) in Research or related field
