Position Summary:

Provide service to existing customers with CCTV, digital recorders, Electronic Access Control (EAC) and Integrated Systems.  Test, troubleshoot, repair, program and verify system functions and performance.  Provide customers with operation training and answer questions while maintaining a professional and courteous customer relationship.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Prepare and coordinate each day’s service tickets to efficiently perform as many service calls as possible with the least amount of travel.
  • Review service tickets in advance to make certain any parts that may be needed to effectuate repairs are on the truck.
  • Communicate with customer on-site to let them know you are there to provide service, discuss their knowledge of the problem which may not have been communicated on the service ticket, and advise as to the status of the repair before leaving (problem repaired or held for parts).
  • Responsible for programming and calibrating equipment; adhering to codes, regulations, and standards. 
  • Verify repairs and systems functions by testing equipment, programming, connections, and signals; identify and correct problems. 
  • Keep complete and accurate paperwork for every service ticket, including parts used with serial numbers, full descriptions of work performed, accurate times spent traveling and on-site work, and any other specifics required by the Branch Manager.
  • Provide operation training to customer of equipment and answer any questions.
  • Use tools, such as meter, to properly diagnose and troubleshoot problems, thus effectuating prompt and accurate repairs for the customer.
  • Submit daily report at end of shift to Manager with update on every service call done that day.
  • Update company program daily with the times of each service call done. 
  • Drive and maintain company vehicle, including regular service and keeping a clean, organized appearance of vehicle.  Responsible for regular maintenance, upkeep and safe operating condition of vehicle, trailer, lift and any other assigned equipment.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. 
  • Maintain vehicle inventory and tools.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Must possess working electronic knowledge including Ohms Law, usage of a multi-meter, understanding of test measurements and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have hands-on technical knowledge of CCTV and/or Electronic Card Access systems including layout and troubleshooting of systems. 
  • Should have knowledge of AC/DC electronic theory, IP network and analog PTZ and fixed cameras, LAN/WAN networks for PC systems and CCTV equipment, fiber optic and CAT-5E cabling, ability to interpret schematics and loading of software updates for PCs and DVRs.
  • Must be able to operate a scissor and/or boom lift safely and to OSHA standards.  This includes wearing a safety harness at all times while on the lift.
  • Must be able to constantly bend, stoop, stretch, pull, crawl, climb, dig, trench, excavate, carry and move heavy electrical equipment.
  • Work requires significant local travel and occasional overnight travel.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule including overnights.
  • Strong problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 100 lbs unassisted and pull cable with force up to 125lbs.
  • Must be able to work on your feet throughout the day, as well as safely work on ladder and lifts for 8-12 hours per day.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must have clean background screening and a negative drug screening result.
  • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license.
General Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED 
  • Certified Electronics or Electronic Engineering Technology
  • A minimum of 5 years in related field experience including Access Control, Intrusion and Fire installation, and CCTV.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge, particularly Microsoft Office Applications and Excel.
  • FASA/BASA Card (or other industry related Certification) a plus
  • Certified Electronics or Electronic Engineering Technology
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Must be able to work long hours; sometimes throughout the night time hours.
