Jaswinder Singh didn’t plan to start a career at ADT. In fact, he almost walked out of the job fair where it all began.

“I was fresh out of college, totally overwhelmed,” he recalls. “I’d never been to a job fair before, and I was ready to leave.” He stepped away from the crowd to catch his breath and that’s when someone from ADT approached him. It wasn’t a formal pitch, just a genuine conversation away from the crowd, and that unexpected chat led to an invite to interview. “My wife had to drive me to the interview,” he laughs. “I wasn’t even planning to go.”

That was 20 years ago. Jaswinder accepted the offer and began his first job in sales, and Edmund Young, the friendly face who first approached him, became his hiring manager. Today, Jaswinder is a National Sales Trainer, helping shape the success of ADT’s sales teams across the country.

A Career Built on Challenge

In March 2006, Jaswinder started as a Sales Rep, quickly setting his sights on becoming one of the best. “I wanted to be in the top 20 nationally,” he says. “So, I pushed myself.” That push paid off, and he earned a spot in ADT’s Circle of Excellence, a recognition reserved for the company’s top performers.

From there, he stepped into management, where he spent a decade leading teams and earning his second Circle of Excellence recognition, this time as a Sales Manager. “It’s rare to get it as both a Rep and a Manager,” he says. “I was one of only a few who did.”

Finding His Dream Role

After achieving success in both sales and management, Jaswinder looked for his next challenge. Encouraged by former leaders who recognized his strength in coaching, they pointed him toward training, a skill that had always been a strength of this. “Training was a cornerstone of how I led my team,” he says. “Helping people grow was always the part I loved most.”

In 2020, the opportunity opened to become a Regional Sales Trainer. Jaswinder applied and stepped into what he calls his dream job, supporting new hires and managers across the country.

“I help train people on product launches, sales models, and how to be successful in their journey,” he explains. “It’s about showing them the tools and how to implement them in the business so we can all grow.”

Shaping the Future of Sales

With over 1,500 sales professionals in the field, Jaswinder plays a critical role in preparing ADT’s teams to succeed. His work supports business goals by ensuring new hires are equipped with the right tools, mindset, and training to perform, adapt, and grow.

“I work with people at the start of their journey,” he explains. “I show them the tools, the mindset, and the path to success.”

From virtual sessions to in-person presentations, Jaswinder’s days are filled with opportunities to connect, teach, and inspire. He’s constantly updating training materials, learning new product features, and helping teams present solutions that make homes and businesses smarter and safer.

“It’s about meeting people where they are and helping them get better every day.”

Why He Never Left

When asked what’s kept him at ADT for two decades, Jaswinder doesn’t hesitate. “Every stage of my career came with support,” he says. “And when there wasn’t a clear path, I figured it out. That’s what I love, there’s always a new challenge.”

And through it all, it’s the people who make the biggest difference. “I get to connect with hundreds of advisors and managers. I help them through their first sale, their toughest objection, and their biggest win. That’s what keeps me going.”

A Career That Keeps Evolving

Jaswinder’s story displays the kind of career that ADT makes possible: one that grows with you. From his first job out of college to his current role as a National Sales Trainer, he’s never needed to look elsewhere. “I’ve never left,” he says. “This was my first job, and it’s still the one I’m excited to wake up for.”

He’s stayed because every stage brought something new: a challenge to rise to, a team to lead, a skill to sharpen. He’s been supported through transitions, trusted to take ownership, and given space to grow. And through it all, he’s found purpose in his role and ADT’s mission. “Every time someone joins ADT, it’s one more family protected. That’s the purpose behind what we do.”

Twenty years later, Jaswinder still remembers that pivotal moment at that career fair that launched his career, and shares the mindset that made it possible: “Be open to the journey. You never know where it might lead.”
