This past summer, ADT welcomed 34 interns representing 17 universities across the country to our Corporate headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida. From cybersecurity and software engineering to marketing and eCommerce, these students contributed to projects that support ADT’s mission to help protect and connect what matters most.

Whether building tools for Customer Care Agents, optimizing contact strategies, or strengthening tech infrastructure, each intern played a role in shaping the future of ADT. In this blog, we’ll hear directly from six interns about their experience and how they helped drive innovation, collaboration, and growth across the business this Summer.

Question 2: What was your role this Summer?

Priti: This Summer, I was a Salesforce Development Intern at ADT.

Trevon: I have been a Workstation Support Intern in our IT Department this Summer at ADT.

Mackenzie: I was an Ecommerce Growth Marketing Intern this Summer.

Joshua: This Summer at ADT, I worked as a Vulnerability Management Intern.

Kylie: I was a Marketing Contact Strategy Intern this Summer.

Patrick: I have been a Software Engineering Intern here at ADT this Summer.

Collaborating in teams, ADT Summer Interns developed and delivered group presentations for the DIY Case Competition.

Question 3: Can you tell us a bit about what you worked on this Summer?

Priti: Throughout this Summer, I worked on ADT’s migration to Salesforce. I specifically focused on optimizing certain workflows to help employees better serve customers more efficiently. The technical solutions I helped design supported ADT’s goal of improving operational efficiency and enhancing customer experience.

Trevon: I supported over 25,000 ADT users who rely on their devices to do their jobs every day. I completed certification training and helped update ADT’s internal knowledge base, making it easier for employees to troubleshoot issues and stay productive. My work helped ensure teams could operate smoothly and focus on delivering value to customers.

Mackenzie: I worked on optimizing eCommerce growth, especially within merchandising. I focused on developing customer-centric messaging strategies that drive engagement and conversions. These efforts supported ADT’s digital transformation and helped strengthen its online presence.

Joshua: I built a lookup tool that identifies which computers or servers might be vulnerable to cyberattacks. Once flagged, we could patch them quickly to keep systems secure. This helped protect ADT’s infrastructure and customer data while supporting the company’s cybersecurity strategy.

Kylie: This Summer, I got to test and develop a new multi-channel contact strategy to engage new leads through direct mail, email, and SMS in order to increase engagement from potential ADT customers and strengthen brand awareness.

Patrick: I developed tools within Salesforce that help Customer Care Agents better serve ADT’s 6 million+ customers daily by streamlining how they access customer information and respond to inquiries, helping them resolve issues more effectively. The work directly improved the customer experience and supported ADT’s service goals.

Question 4: What made you decide to join ADT?

Priti: I knew ADT was a place where I could grow both my soft and hard skills. I gained confidence in a professional setting, learned how to collaborate across teams, and got hands-on experience designing scalable technical solutions to real business problems.

Trevon: I saw this internship as a chance to work in a corporate environment, meet new people, and build my professional network. I worked on real projects, gained exposure to different areas of the business, and connected with leaders who shared valuable insights about their careers and the company.

Mackenzie: I was excited to join a company with over 150 years of experience serving customers and keeping homes and businesses safe. ADT has a rich history and a bright future, and I wanted to contribute to that.

Joshua: I decided to join ADT because I wanted to apply what I’ve been learning in school to real projects, and ADT gave me that opportunity. I received ongoing support from my manager, mentors, and peers, and learned how cybersecurity works in a large organization.

Kylie: ADT is an industry leader, and I knew I’d be learning from some of the best. I spent the summer with a cohort of interns from schools across the country, worked on real projects, and learned from professionals with years of experience. Then, we got the opportunity to present our projects and findings to company leadership and stakeholders, which was such a cool opportunity.

Patrick: I joined ADT because of the career growth opportunities this internship offers. I expanded my professional network, learned from experienced professionals across departments, and got real technical experience that challenged me in so many different ways.

Question 5: What has been your favorite part of your internship experience?

Priti: I’ve loved that this internship gave us the chance to interact with people from all across the business. We met with ADT’s entire Executive Leadership Team, both individually and as a group, attended networking events with employees from different departments, and got the chance to ask our own questions and apply their advice. It’s been helpful to connect with people who want to see us succeed and are excited to support our growth.

Trevon: Being in IT, I get to talk to so many different people every day from across the business. I’ve had multiple mentors and meaningful one-on-one conversations with everyone from ADT technicians in the field to our CEO, Jim. It’s been a rewarding experience getting to learn from them and apply their advice in my role and education.

Mackenzie: My favorite part of this summer has been working on meaningful projects that will help boost ADT’s brand image and marketing goals. Interns were trusted to lead initiatives and make real contributions, and it’s awesome to know that our work will have a lasting impact.

Joshua: I appreciated the program’s balance between doing real work and enjoying fun events and networking opportunities. We went to a Marlins game in the ADT suite, visited ADT’s Sales office followed by a team outing to Topgolf, participated in networking events like social networking bingo and speed networking sessions, and even toured the Innovation House where ADT tests its products. It’s been such a great balance of professional development and team-building experiences, which helped me connect with people across the business and understand ADT’s culture in a deeper way.

Kylie: The ride-along with an ADT technician was a highlight of my Summer. Seeing what they do in the field and how it connects to the work I’ve been doing helped me understand the business better. It gave me a new perspective and helped me approach my projects with more clarity.

Patrick: My favorite part of my experience here at ADT this summer has been connecting with the people and getting challenged with real work that has a true impact on the company and its customers. Another favorite part has been the location, I’ve enjoyed living in South Florida, exploring the area, spending time at the beach, and making memories with the other interns outside of work.
