Going the Distance: How Paul Quinn’s Ironman Mindset Drives Success at ADT
In November of 2025, an ADT Health On-The-Go Pendant went on a 140.6 mile journey through Panama City Beach, Florida. It was carried by Paul Quinn, National Health Sales Manager, as he completed his third Ironman Triathlon at age 66.
An Ironman is one of the most demanding endurance events in the world. Athletes must complete a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and 26.2-mile run in under 17 hours, and fewer than 100,000 people worldwide finish an Ironman each year. For Paul, the challenge went deeper. “Completing my third Ironman in 2025, at age 66, was more than just a race — it was a personal reckoning,” he says. That mindset of determination and persistence mirrors how Paul approaches his work at ADT: adapting to obstacles, staying focused, and meeting challenges head on, no matter the circumstance.
How Paul Turned a Passion for Care Into a Career
Paul’s professional career has always centered on improving lives through healthcare innovation. Eventually, his path led to senior care, representing Personal Emergency Response Systems for older adults, a role that aligned perfectly with his values and commitment to protecting vulnerable populations. That mission ultimately brought him to ADT.
“Simple,” Paul says. “We help those who cannot help themselves. This gives me a great sense of fulfillment in my life’s mission.”
Today, as part of ADT’s Health & Emerging Markets Division, Paul leads national sales for mobile safety solutions that protect seniors and lone workers, specifically ADT’s On-The-Go Pendant, the same device he trusted through every mile of his Ironman training.

From early-morning training to the finish line of his third Ironman, Paul Quinn kept his ADT Health On-The-Go Pendant (pictured above in his right hand) with him every step of the way.
Training with Confidence
Paul’s Ironman journey began long before race day. In preparation for his second Ironman in 2024, he logged 874 miles of running, 3,162 miles of cycling, and 141 miles of swimming. He trained through storms, curfews, and even the loss of his home and car when Anna Maria Island was hit with 2 hurricanes just weeks before the race. Despite setbacks, he adapted and kept moving forward.

Throughout every early morning workout and late-night ride, Paul carried ADT’s On-The-Go Pendant — a mobile safety device that provides two-way voice communication and ADT-monitored emergency response. Designed for seniors and lone workers, it offers peace of mind anywhere, anytime.
“I deeply believe in the technology I’m fortunate to represent,” Paul says. “I relied on it during my 4 a.m. training sessions, and having it with me during the race gave me a sense of safety and confidence — just another reminder that ADT was with me every step of the way.”

Paul finished the 112-mile bike ride portion of the Ironman race in 7 hours, 17 minutes, and 38 seconds.
Having ADT in His Corner
In the days leading up to the race, Paul’s inbox filled with messages from teammates offering encouragement. That support mattered. “It was a challenging day, but knowing I had the encouragement of Team ADT behind me made a real difference,” Paul says.

Paul finished the 2.4 mile swim portion of the Ironman race in 1 hour, 29 minutes, and 27 seconds, the only athlete to complete it without a wetsuit.
Race Day in Panama City Beach
Race day in November 2025 was cold by Florida standards, and Paul faced more than the usual obstacles. He stood among 2,000 athletes, the only one without a wetsuit, and pushed through a strained Achilles. Still, he showed up determined to finish what he started.
“I signed up for Ironman 2025 with a new mindset: this would be my year of courage,” Paul says. “I had unfinished business in Panama City Beach, and I wasn’t going to quit.” Paul shares. “I came alone—no support crew, no distractions—just me, my training, and the quiet determination to finish what I started.”
Sixteen hours and 21 minutes after the starting horn, Paul crossed the finish line — his third Ironman complete, and ADT’s On-The-Go Pendant was with him every step of the way.

Paul finished the 26.2 mile run portion of the Ironman race in 7 hours, 5 minutes, and 3 seconds, signaling the completion of his 3rd full Ironman.
Join a Team That Goes the Distance
Looking back on the past two years, Paul says he feels incredibly blessed. “I work for a company that supports my personal mission to help others,” he shares. “They’re there for their teammates in a big way—GO HEALTH DIVISION!” That support mattered during his race, and it’s the same support he feels in his work. At ADT, Paul knows he’s part of a team that shows up for each other and for the customers who count on them.
