Summary:

The National Sales Center (NSC) Communications Specialist develops and delivers timely, accurate, and engaging internal communications that help team members and leaders understand business priorities, process changes, product updates, and company news. This role owns the weekly newsletter and NSC portal and supports communications through email, presentations, video, and other approved channels. The Specialist partners with subject-matter experts and leaders from the front line through the executive level to translate complex information into clear, audience-appropriate messages that drive awareness, readiness, and consistent execution across the NSC.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end production and release of the NSC weekly newsletter, including content intake, drafting, editing, approvals, formatting, distribution, and archival.

  • Draft, edit, and publish clear communications about process, policy, system, product, pricing, program, and organizational updates.

  • Select and use the appropriate communication medium for each audience, including email, newsletters, portal content, presentations, huddle materials, job aids, graphics, and video.

  • Record, edit, caption, and publish short-form videos and other multimedia content as needed to support learning, engagement, and change adoption.

  • Partner with subject-matter experts to validate technical and operational content before release and ensure communications are accurate, actionable, and aligned with approved guidance.

  • Adapt messaging for audiences ranging from front-line team members and people leaders to directors and above.

  • Maintain the NSC communications calendar, intake queue, distribution lists, templates, shared files, and archive of past communications.

  • Coordinate review and approval workflows, manage competing deadlines, and follow up with content owners to support timely releases.

  • Monitor readership, engagement, feedback, and acknowledgment results when available; recommend improvements to content, timing, format, and channel strategy.

  • Support urgent or time-sensitive communications and complete additional NSC communications assignments as business needs evolve.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and message-framing skills, with close attention to accuracy, tone, grammar, and brand standards.

  • Ability to translate complex operational, product, and process information into concise, actionable content for varied audiences.

  • Sound judgment in selecting communication channels, sequencing messages, and escalating unclear or sensitive content.

  • Working knowledge of video recording and editing, visual storytelling, accessibility practices, and basic content design.

  • Strong organization, project management, prioritization, follow-through across multiple deadlines and stakeholders.

  • Skilled at building productive relationships with front-line employees, people leaders, subject-matter experts, and senior leaders.

  • Able to work independently, respond calmly to changing priorities, and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Continuous-improvement mindset with the ability to use engagement data and stakeholder feedback to strengthen communications.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English, digital media, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint, plus experience with video recording and editing tools and basic visual-content creation using applications such as Adobe suite, Sway, and Poppulo.

  • Professional Experience: 1–3 years of experience in internal communications, content development, employee communications, marketing communications, or a related role.

  • Demonstrated experience producing recurring communications, managing editorial deadlines, and coordinating reviews with multiple stakeholders.

  • Portfolio or work samples demonstrating writing, editing, newsletter, presentation, and video or multimedia capabilities preferred.

  • Experience supporting a sales, contact-center, operations, or other fast-paced workforce environment is preferred.

Working Conditions:

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work at a computer.

  • Ability to use a keyboard, telephone, camera, microphone, and standard office or video-production equipment.

  • Ability to move or carry light communications or recording equipment as needed.

  • Ability to work effectively in an office, hybrid, or virtual environment based on business requirements.

Communication Skills:

  • Frequent written and verbal communication with front-line team members, people leaders, subject-matter experts, and senior executives.

  • Ability to listen, synthesize discussions, clarify requirements, and convert decisions into accurate, audience-ready messaging.

  • Ability to present recommendations, receive feedback, and manage approvals professionally across organizational levels.

Location:

  • This role supports the National Sales Center and may be based at a designated NSC location, subject to the approved work arrangement.

  • Regular collaboration with geographically dispersed teams and leaders is required through in-person and virtual channels.

  • Occasional on-site support may be required for leadership meetings, video recording, events, or major communication launches.

  • Limited flexibility outside standard business hours may be needed for urgent operational or company communications.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel may be required to other NSC locations, company meetings, or approved recording and communications events.

In the event a position is commission-based, compensation is solely based on the individual’s sales volume. This applies only to commission roles.
